Andrew Gilbert
Associate, Head of Design Services
andrew.gilbert@churchill-hui.com
Andrew joined the practice in 1997. As head of design services within the practice his key role is to oversee feasibility, pre-application and planning submissions (RIBA Work Stages A - D), ensuring a strong focus on the design aspect of the architecture.
Andrew’s experience lies in affordable housing developments, from single dwellings to large master-planned schemes, whether with mixed tenures or mixed uses, including commercial or industrial elements. Hostels, community centres, full wheelchair units, extra-care facilities, sheltered accommodation and even churches also fall within his repertoire.
He prides himself in being able to advise clients on the development potential and deliverability of sites, assisting them in presentations or bids to relevant parties such as Local Authorities. He is also keen to be involved at a community level such as resident consultations and drop-in meetings. His raison d’être would be to go that extra step to deliver a good quality product that ensures a successful development.
Andrew holds a BA honours degree and a Diploma in Architecture from Portsmouth University, which included an exchange with the University of Aachen in Germany. His professional qualifications are from the Architectural Association School of Architecture. He is also a member of the RIBA.
